Podcast Recommendations for 2019

I know, I know… it’s been a long time since I’ve last posted on here. After a very busy February I’m back and better than ever, ready to continue posting consistently! A lot has happened this past month and I’ll update you properly on all of that in tomorrow’s post. Since I’ve missed out on a month’s worth of content, I’ll be posting daily for the next few days to make up for it and make amends with you. 😉

Today is all about podcasts. Again! Since my post last year on my favourite podcasts, my library has been updated with a bunch of new ones I listen to on a regular basis. A lot of you told me you enjoyed listening to podcasts such as ‘Keeping it Candid’ and ‘Thick & Thin’, so I hope you love these ones just as much as I do!

I am a huge fan of Maria Hatzistefanis. I’ve written about my affinity for her before but she is the definition of a girl boss to me. Her podcast is all about her journey in growing her businesses and entrepreneurship. She has interviewed big names on her podcast, such as Mario Dedivanovic, Ariel Tejada and Huda Kattan. I am already a big fan of her makeup and skincare brand Rodial and I swear by the Instaglam Compact Deluxe Banana Powder. I must have repurchased it at least 3 times within the past year. I’ve also read her book ‘How to Be an Overnight Success’ and really enjoyed it. She releases new podcast episodes every Monday morning, which makes my commute to university that much more motivational and fun. I highly recommend giving this a listen if you’re interested in the behind-the-scenes of building your own empire.

The Crash on My Couch podcast is hosted by YouTubers Arden Rose and Will Darbyshire. I’ve been subscribed to Arden’s channel on YouTube since the early days… it must have been in 2012 when I first heard of her. Arden and her boyfriend Will have a somewhat unique podcast where they talk about really, really random topics such as cults, fake restaurants, Sophia the Saudi robot to name just a few. I don’t listen to their podcast regularly but I love to put it on in the background whilst I’m cleaning. I don’t know why but it makes me clean for longer, haha! Unfortunately, they haven’t released an episode since April 2018 but with 51 episodes available, I’m sure it will take you some time to get through them all anyway.

Another podcast by someone I’ve followed on YouTube for a long time! Estée Lalonde’s podcast is a relatively new favourite. She covers a broad range of topics which are all interesting to me: relationships, friendships, living abroad, mental and physical health, etc. I find Estée’s voice so soothing to listen to and I feel like we have similar views in general. Highly recommend it!

Ashley Graham is a force to be reckoned with. She is so unapologetically her and I am so here for it. I love what she is doing within the fashion community, constantly challenging societal norms and calling brands out for not being inclusive. She comes across as very charismatic and bubbly and I would love to sit down and have a talk with her one day. Maybe by writing this down, I will manifest it into reality? 😉I especially loved her podcast episodes with Lilly Singh and Amy Schumer. Listen to her podcast if you need a pick-me-up!

This is the most recent podcast I’ve fallen in love with – The Ikonn Experience by Mimi and Alex Ikonn. I’ve followed Mimi on YouTube since the very beginning, closely watching her hair tutorials with her sister Leyla. She founded Luxy Hair with her sister and her husband Alex, which went on to become a multi-million dollar business. Since then, they’ve built many other successful businesses and are very active on social media. Mimi’s Instagram posts always put a smile on my face as you can tell how much she practices what she preaches – gratitude. Their podcast is very inspiring and provides great insight into how one can pursue entrepreneurship.

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed reading about my updated podcast recommendations. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section if you’ve listened to any of them!
