On Thursday, the 7th of March 2019, I had the honour and pleasure of being a part of ‘The Enterprising Woman’ event organised by my dear friend Tolu. The event was a part of the Futures Festival at the Warwick Students’ Union. The aim of the event was to showcase female students at Warwick that have a side hustle. I couldn’t believe that I was asked to be a part of such a cool event and I definitely felt like I had imposter syndrome! Me? I just have a small blog that I write in sometimes, nothing major. But I would be crazy to reject Tolu’s invitation and I am truly honoured to have been given a platform to speak about what led me to starting up my blog again, as well as any tips and trick I have for anyone who’d also like to pursue blogging. The event was organised so that the first hour consisted of us at our stalls and the second hour consisted of a Q&A panel session.
The best part about this experience was seeing how supportive my friends were. ❤️Even though it probably didn’t mean that much to them to show up, it really touched me seeing how supportive they are of me and what I want to do. Ahh, I get so gushy about it but it means the world. It was also so amazing getting to network with so many other girl bosses. I may or may not have collaborated with Funmi for her YouTube channel so stay tuned for that video! My friend Tolu herself is such a big inspiration to me. She is the founder of Erayo Events, which is an event planning company. Remember when I wrote about meeting up with a former Law Ball Coordinator at the start of the academic year for her to share her wisdom regarding planning a Law Ball? That was her. She is the epitome of an enterprising woman and I know that she will go on to achieve amazing things. The fact that she saw the same in me warms my heart. ❤️
The Enterprising Woman event took place in a dark room, so the photos didn’t turn out that great. I tried to tinker them during the editing phase but they’re still not the best quality. Oh well, at least there’s photographic evidence of such a fun event, right? Focus on the positive. Always.
What makes you enterprising?
